Excellent critique of Disney by Al Hischfield.

 I saw this on John Kricfalusi's blog - John is the animator who created Ren and Stimpy, among other accomplishments. He is a lover of good animation, and very critical about how commercial animation has degenerated in the last fifty years. His blog is like attending a school of the history and techniques of animation; he is a great teacher. I check it every day. It is full of fascinating information about both the artistic and business sides of the cartoon biz, and how decisions (mostly dumb these days) are made.

My favorite work of his is the video he did for Bjork; what a wonderful combination of the best of the old and new in animation. He was a perfect choice for her blend of interesting music and playfulness.
